We spent a majority of today collecting data on our fast plants and the butterfly larvae.
- For the fast plants, please talk to someone in your fast plant group who can airdrop/e-mail you pictures and give you the data that was collected.
- We created a new spreadsheet for the butterfly larvae. I've included a picture below of what yours should look like. Please create this. You will need to enable text wrapping on the B column. Here are instructions on how to do this on the iPad (click on "format cells in a spreadsheet"). Here are the instructions to do this on a computer (scroll down to "Wrap Text"). Contact a lab partner for the data that was collected. We primarily focused on the size of the larvae, the condition of the leaves, and other evidence such as frass (poop) and exoskeletons. You should have a short paragraph of observations written for both days.
- Finally, we created a math statement to solve a problem related to our ponds: what was the average number of new fronds per day in our pond? Try to figure this out on your own and write down your idea on handout 44.
